A weather app can't see your dog

It shows you the temperature. It doesn't know your dog runs hot, or that the pavement's been baking since noon. PawPrint reads the same sky, for your street and your dog, and tells you what to actually do.

Same weather. One shows you a number. The other makes the call for your dog.

The part you can't see from the window: flat-faced breeds like Frenchies and Pugs carry about twice the odds of heat-related illness, and 1 in 7 dogs treated for it died (Royal Veterinary College, 900,000+ UK dogs). That's why every call is tuned to your dog — never the average dog.

Check the sky before you leash up

Questions, answered straight

No fine print, no dark patterns. Here's how it works, and how to walk your dog in the heat.

PawPrint, plans and privacy

Is PawPrint free?

Yes. The daily walk call, the live map, dog-friendly places, the community, and the lost-dog network are free forever. Premium adds deeper foresight on top.

What does Premium add?

Best time to head out (Premium): On hot days, the hour to aim for instead of guessing — and why. Dry spots nearby (Premium): When your area turns wet, the nearby areas that aren't — read off the same live nowcast. Watch up to 50 places (Premium): Track more places and receive weather-change alerts during walking hours. Checks are scheduled, so alerts aren't instant. PawPilot all day (Premium): 50 dog-aware asks a day instead of the free plan's 3, with the same practical planning help. The walk call itself — the decision, the reasoning and the confidence — is free and stays free.

Do I need a card to try Premium?

No. You start free with a 7-day Premium trial — no card required. You only add payment if you decide to keep Premium after the trial.

What happens when the trial ends, or when I pay?

You keep everything free, forever. Premium continues only if you choose to subscribe (S$11.99/month or S$99/year on the web, billed in SGD). Nothing is charged automatically without you adding a card.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — in a couple of taps from your profile, no emails or phone calls. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.

Is the lost-dog network really free?

Always. Raising the island for a lost dog is never paywalled — that is a promise, not a plan tier.

Is my location private?

Yes. Your exact location is never shared. The community only ever sees approximate areas, and you control your visibility.

How do I report or block someone?

Every meetup, post, message and profile carries a report control. To stop someone reaching you at all, open their profile and tap Block: they can't message you, see your walks or send you a request, and their posts and meetups leave your app — and you can unblock from the same profile. We read every report. What is and is not allowed is at https://pawprint.live/legal/community, and a person reads support@pawprint.live.

Does PawPrint work outside Singapore?

The app does — your dog's profile, walks, the lost-dog poster and alerts all work anywhere. The walk call does not yet. It needs a weather source we are licensed to use, and today that is Singapore's official nowcast; elsewhere PawPrint says it has no licensed source for your area rather than showing you a reading it cannot back. We turn the call on for a region as soon as the source is in place.

Walking your dog

Is it too hot to walk my dog right now?

It depends on the air temperature where you are, the humidity, how much sun has been on the ground — and on your dog. PawPrint reads the live local weather against your dog's breed and heat sensitivity and gives one call: go now, wait, pivot to a better spot, or stay in. A flat-faced breed — a Frenchie, a Pug, a Shih Tzu — gets a lower threshold automatically, and you can mark any dog heat-sensitive yourself.

How hot is too hot for a dog's paws?

Asphalt in direct sun has been measured at around 52°C when the air is only 25°C (a Phoenix field measurement published in JAMA in 1970) — hot enough to burn paw pads. Press the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If you cannot hold it there comfortably, walk on grass, take a shaded route, or wait for the surface to cool.

What are the signs of heatstroke in dogs?

Heavy or fast panting, drooling, dry or sticky gums, bright-red gum colour, lethargy, disorientation, vomiting or collapse. A body temperature above 39.4°C is abnormal for a dog (VCA). Get your dog into shade, offer water, cool them with room-temperature water, and call a vet straight away. PawPrint is not veterinary advice.

What is the best time to walk a dog in hot weather?

Early morning and after sunset, when the air and the ground have both cooled. Midday sun is the worst of it, and the air temperature is only half the story: the surface a dog walks on holds heat for hours after the peak. PawPrint reads your area's live heat and UV and names the hour worth aiming for, instead of a rule of thumb.

Are there dog walks or group walks near me?

You can use PawPrint to post a walk or look for shared walks on a map. Walk locations are shown as approximate areas; exact locations are not shared.

What should I do if my dog goes missing?

Start where you are: search your usual routes on foot, calling your dog's name, and ask neighbours and nearby shops. A US survey by ASPCA researchers found 14% of dogs went missing at least once in five years; 93% were found. Then post a lost-dog alert — PawPrint raises it with pawrents nearby and builds a shareable poster in seconds, and contact your local animal-welfare authority and nearby vets, because found dogs are often handed in.

Where does PawPrint get its weather?

Weather in Singapore: NEA via data.gov.sg. Everywhere else: Weather data by Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0). Walk calls are PawPrint's own estimates based on this data, not official warnings. PawPrint is not affiliated with NEA, Open-Meteo, or any government agency.

Why not just ask ChatGPT or check a weather app?

A weather app tells you the temperature; a chatbot tells you a general rule. Neither knows your dog. PawPrint reads the live numbers for where you are, runs them against your dog's breed and heat sensitivity, and gives you one call with the reasoning behind it — and it changes when the weather does.
